Workshop Areas
Workshops are held in either the Studio Barn, adjoining the house, the Courtyard Barn or, if weather is fine and the workshop facilitate it, in the courtyard or beneath the canvas bodger shelter in the grounds or woodland.
The Studio Barn
This stone and brick barn is open up to the rafters with plenty of natural light coming in from glazed Western end. The building has central heating and a wood-burner making it snug on colder days.
Off the Studio there is a utility room with sink, hot and cold water, and also a toilet.
Access to bedrooms, dining room and sitting room is also from the Studio.
The Courtyard Barn
This is a light airy space, facing south with whitewashed interior and plenty of natural light. This space is used for green wood working as well as willow work. Portable heating.
The Courtyard
This lies between the main house and the Courtyard Barn. It is a large open grass and hard standing area particularly useful for workshops using large materials such as Green Oak Building.
Canvas Bodger Shelter
This lovely traditional canvas shelter is portable and used for woodland bodger (green wood) workshops. Sometimes on hot days it can be used for table based craft workshops or gatherings. It can also be set up beside the lake or in the woodland.
